Suzu Hirose, Ayami Nakajo, and Haruka Fukuhara star in the comedy movie Let’s Go, JETS! From Small Town Girls to U.S. Champions?!, which was released in 2017 and was then followed by a TV drama series sequel broadcast on TBS with a different cast.

We are still not sure how or why the police pounced on the couple — a tip off from someone? — but apparently they had grounds to suspect former KAT-TUN singer Junnosuke Taguchi (33) and his girlfriend, former actress Rena Komine (38), of drug offenses. Officers raided the home they shared in Tokyo and found evidence of possession of marijuana, which is banned in Japan.

Komine has already retired from acting, it seems, and established herself as the head of an entertainment agency (jimusho). Since she is working “backstage,” so to speak, she may be able to salvage some kind of career after she is released, though we presume Taguchi’s acting roles and, more importantly, any possibility of lucrative advertising appearance fees, are gone the way of the dodo.

Netizens scrambled to remind themselves just who Komine was and quickly turned up a nude scene she did back in 2006 for the Japanese movie Hatsukoi (First Love), which starred Aoi Miyazaki in the lead role. Her other credits include the tamer Kamen Rider.

We did a little research ourselves and found these semi-nude photo shoots she did in happier times.

We’ve always had a soft spot for the slinky, sultry gravure model and actress Moemi Katayama.

After some years in gravure, the 28-year-old with a G-cup is establishing her acting career as she enters her thirties and the jukujo phase of her life. Nonetheless, this didn’t stop her from doing a nude photo book a while back.

Even better, though, is the nude sex scene she did in Fumiko’s Feet (2018). You get a lingering look at her drooping breasts and she is inevitably asked to ride cowgirl on her male partner so the viewer doesn’t miss a glimpse.

We recently introduced the great Netflix drama series The Naked Director, which charts the rise and fall of adult video legend Toru Muranishi during the 1980s and 1990s.

Now we want to look in more detail at some of the sex and nudity it depicts.

The choice of Netflix to show the series is an apt one, since then it is now bound by the strange rules of mainstream Japanese broadcasting that forbids actual nudity. Being a streaming channel, Netflix can do the subject matter justice by allowing some actual bare flesh on screen.

One of the most naked is the gravure idol Ruri Shinato — long a favorite of ours — who appears in several sex scenes.

Prompted by a reader’s tweet, we are looking today at the sex scenes from a Japanese film. Called Shonen (娼年) in Japanese, or Call Boy in English, it was released in 2018. An adaptation of a book by Ira Ishida, the title basically says it all. Tori Matsuzaka plays a male prostitute, who gets the chance to service some beautiful Japanese actresses in a series of graphic sex scenes.

With this movie, there’s frankly a lot of material to choose from and the following are just a few highlights. (Our apologies for the variable quality of the images.)

Originally from the theater, Miura previously adapted his own play Love’s Whirlpool into a film that featured some graphic sex scenes (and effectively launched the career of Mugi Kadowaki). Miura also wrote and directed a 2016 stage version of Ishida’s two Shonen books, which had again starred Matsuzaka in the title role.

The relatively little-known actress Kanako Nishikawa (西川可奈子) is the star of Under Your Bed, a strange film about voyeurism released in Japan in 2019.

Directed by Mari Asato, the film stars Kengo Kora as Naoto, a young man who becomes obsessed with a woman he knew when he was a child.

The 32-year-old Nishikawa has several nude scenes in the film, including full-frontal nudity and an explicit sex scene.
